Small effort, big impact changes

Your home shouldn’t be boring, it should reflect you. It should be a space you are happy to come home and can relax in. Even better if it’s a space you feel proud to invite other people over to. Too often people stop after they put in a couch and coffee table into the space. It’s the final details that make it feel complete and cozy. Here are a few simple, manageable changes you can do to your space to make a big impact to the overall feel of your space.

  1. Change your light fixtures: There are so many options out there to choose from, and these are quick and easy to install but can give big impact to a space.

  2. Update (or finally add) curtains: For many people, these are an afterthought but they truly do make a space feel cozy and completed. Make sure to hang them high to add height to your space.

  3. Hang art or pictures on the walls: Are your walls still empty? Or are you hanging pictures on the nails that were previously there instead of where it should be? Art or photos make a home feel personalized. Make sure they are the right scale, and hung at eye level. Nail holes are easy to patch, don’t let that scare you from putting things on the wall.

  4. Replace your area rugs: This is an easy swap, and great way to refresh a room. Remember to always make sure at minimum the front legs of your furniture are sitting on the rug!

  5. Dress up your walls: Adding details such as wainscotting, panelling, wallpaper etc is a great way to add character and texture to your space. Just do one accent wall if committing to the whole room is too much.
